The beach and Lozenets

Lozenets is a small village on the southern Black Sea coast, in the municipality of Tsarevo. It was founded in 1924 by around twenty Thracian refugee families and today lives almost entirely off the summer — but outside August it is still quiet.

The beaches

The central beach

200 metres from the hotel. Wide, with a shallow entry and most of the bars and services nearby. The surf and kitesurf schools are here too — Lozenets is one of the few places on this coast where the wind is steady enough for it.

Oazis

South of the village, below the villa zone. Quieter than the central beach, with dunes and far fewer people on a weekday.

Koral

A few kilometres further south, between Lozenets and Tsarevo. Considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the southern coast — long, wild and undeveloped. You reach it by a dirt road, which is what has kept it that way.

Mechata dupka (the Bear’s Hole)

A small beach of about 120 metres with exceptionally clear water and a natural lagoon. Shallow and sheltered — the best choice if you are travelling with small children.

What is nearby

The Ropotamo reserve — about 15 km north. The boat trip up the river is the classic outing and takes half a day.

Beglik Tash — a Thracian sanctuary on the rocks above Primorsko, about 14 km away, often called the Bulgarian Stonehenge. An hour or two is enough.

Sinemorets and the mouth of the Veleka — about half an hour south by car. Where the river meets the sea is one of the most photographed spots on this coast.

Tsarevo — ten minutes away: the harbour, the old quarter and the restaurants along the quay.

Getting here

From Burgas — about 60 km, an hour and a quarter by car. Burgas Airport is roughly an hour and a half away. From Sofia it is about 430 km. Primorsko is half an hour away, Sozopol forty minutes.

The hotel is at 8 Veleka Street, right next to the centre of the village. Outdoor parking is available on site for a supplement.
